Porsche has experienced steady growth in the first half of this year, a success attributed to the release of the 718 Boxster and Cayman models. Compared to last year, sales in the United States have increased by 6%, while sales in China have grown by 4%.

The luxury car manufacturer delivered over 6,000 new Caymans and nearly 7,000 new Boxsters internationally, and both cars were met by consumers with unparalleled popularity. This year, Porsche has delivered 117,963 new vehicles worldwide, up 3% from deliveries mid-year in 2015.

The Porsche 718 Boxster not only looks impressive on the outside but it has three exciting technical innovations on the inside that we’re excited to share with you. The four-cylinder turbo vehicle features PSM Sport Mode, a Sport Response Button, and a Dynamic Boost Function to make driving a Porsche even more thrilling.

  1. Porsche Stability Management. The PSM (Porsche Stability Management) Sport Mode allows drivers to explore performance limits such as on a circuit track or winter driver training on a low-friction surface along with hard braking. It provides a sportier road-feel to the vehicle and the driver can maneuver the vehicle with better agility. This function can be turned on or off at anytime the driver desires.
  2. Sport Response Button. Unleash power with a push of a button. The 718 Boxster provides adrenaline with the Sport Response Button.  It’s  located on the steering wheel and gives the driver 20 seconds of maximum acceleration.
  3. Dynamic Boost Function. The Dynamic Boost Function enables the turbo in the car by maintaining the charge pressure during load changes (for example, when the accelerator pedal is released briefly). This is achieved by just interrupting fuel injection, whereas the throttle valve remains open. As a result, the engine reacts with practically no delay to another press of the accelerator pedal

These three technical innovations within the Porsche 718 Boxster provide great performance, agility, and spontaneous response. Making for a more quick and efficient car, all while remaining comfortable. Want to learn more about the 718 Boxster? Contact one of our Porsche specialists today at Porsche St. Louis.

On April 14, 2016, Porsche St. Louis ushered in the new 2017 Porsche 911. Porsche customers and enthusiasts joined us at our dealership to get a first look at the all-new 2017 911.

Throughout the evening guests enjoyed tasty hors’ devours and cocktails served from a 911 Ice Sculpture Bar. Each guest was sent home with a Porsche 911 car collector’s item as a token of appreciation for joining us for the festive night.

Of course the start of the show was the new 911! This updated version of the 911 continues the legacy of being an authentic Porsche sports car, while providing compelling comfort for any drive. The enhanced front and rear design enhances the 911’s sharp lines. New twin-turbo engines provide the driver with increased power (414 horsepower to be precise), considerably more torque, high rpm limits and lower consumption. Guests couldn’t get enough of it! They were each taking turns sitting inside the vehicle and taking photos of it and with it.

indiGO Auto Group CEO and Porsche St. Louis Dealer Principal Todd Blue said, “We appreciate everyone who joined us for our first ever Porsche launch in St. Louis. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the heritage of the incredible Porsche brand and the many attributes of the new 911.”

MACANAutomotive News released an article today forecasting that the Macan will be Porsche’s new top-seller. A leader from Porsche’s dealer advisory board said targeted sales of around 17,000 vehicles in 2016 is that will make this crossover become the top-selling nameplate this year.

“Two new models on sale this year will help the Macan overtake its big brother crossover, the Porsche Cayenne, said Todd Blue, CEO of indiGO Auto Group, which has three Porsche stores, in St. Louis, Houston and Rancho Mirage, California. Customer enthusiasm for the compact-cross-over segment is another factor.”

Mr. Blue added, “Porsche executives have long expected the Macan to become the brand’s top-seller, and, with supplies freeing up, it looks like 2016 will be the year the Macan passes the Cayenne. But Cayenne sales are likely to increase this year, too.”

Automotive News reported the Macan was the brand’s second largest seller in 2015 behind on the Cayenne. Porsche sold 3,533 Macans in 2015.

Mr. Blue predicts, “The growth is going to come in 2016 from crossover SUVs.”

Once production of the new Macan variants has normalized, Mr. Blue expects 20 percent of the nameplate’s sales to come from the four-cylinder model and another 15 to 20 percent from the new GTS.

porsche-Macan-image (1)Automotive News reported that Porsche has announced it is unveiling a four-cylinder Macan later this month at the New York Auto Show. This model will be the brand’s new entry-level crossover and the price will begin at just $48,550.

Here in the United States this is the fourth model in the Macan line-up.  In addition, Porsche offers the Macan S, Turbo and the GTS. The new Macan will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that Porsche describes as “sporty and highly efficient.” The vehicle produces 252 hp and 273 pounds-feet of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes 6.1 seconds, and top track speed is an impressive 142 mph.

Todd Blue, CEO of indiGO Auto Group was quoted in the article sharing that “Porsche loyalists won’t find the four-cylinder Macan lacking.”  He added, “With Porsche, it’s all about the performance, power-to-weight ratio, the balance and obviously the efficiency of the car,” Blue said. “When customers drive it, they’ll be amazed by the car and, not the least of which, [the] value for the dollar.”
