Porsche Pulls The Largest Passenger Aircraft In The World

Once again, the unthinkable has been accomplished by Porsche. The Cayenne, driven by Porsche GB technician Richard Payne, towed the aircraft over a distance of 42-metres at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, to set a new Guinness World Records title for ‘Heaviest Aircraft Pull by a Production Car,’ by a margin of 115-tonnes. Richard Payne, a technician at Porsche GB said, “It did it – I’m so relieved! We don’t usually go this far to test the limits of our cars but I think today we got pretty close. I could tell that it was working hard but the Cayenne didn’t complain and just got on with it. My mirrors were quite full of Airbus, which was interesting. Our cars can go a bit beyond what our customers might expect they’re designed to be tough. But even so, what the Cayenne did today was remarkable we drove the car here from London and I plan to drive it home again, having towed an A380 in between. Credit should go to the team in Stuttgart who developed the car they did a thorough job. I’m also very grateful to Air France and its engineers for their generosity in allowing me to tow their beautiful aircraft.” The 60,000-square-meter hangar was designed specifically to house the Air France Airbus A380 and is usually home to all the engineering and maintenance activity for the Air France fleet. The contrast between the two machines was striking. The Porsche Cayenne was connected to the most sophisticated and largest passenger aircraft in the world, the Airbus A380 via a special towing attachment that sat on the Cayenne’s standard tow bar. The job given was completed successfully, and the Porsche Cayenne made its mark in the book of Guinness World Records. Looking for a powerful vehicle? Porsche Donates A Panamera As A Training Tool For Firefighters

Training is the most important stage of a firefighter’s education and recruitment. Because of this, Porsche wanted to provide a real car for the trainees to use for practice, so they donated a Porsche Panamera to the emergency services of Nuremberg. The latest training session was focused on the technical procedure for rescuing people from new vehicles. This involves freeing people from an automobile wreckage using tools like large shears and spreaders. “This makes it easier for the rescue team to help people quickly and safely at the scene”, says Alexander Grenz, from the department and Technical Service of Nuremberg. The generous donation gives firefighters the knowledge of working with some of the world’s most advanced vehicles. Porsche’s commitment to community outreach is unparalleled! Curious to learn more about the Porsche Panamera? We welcome you to stop by indiGO Auto Group’s Porsche St. Louis.

Porsche Ranks as Most Dependable Brand in the J.D. Power Study

BRAVO to Porsche on being ranked as a most dependable brand in the latest J.D. Power Study. The study, now in its 28 th year, examines problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of 2014 model-year vehicles. Overall dependability is determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles, with a lower score reflecting higher quality. The study covers 177 specific problems grouped into eight major vehicle categories. Porsche came out on top with a score of 110 per 100 vehicles. The 2017 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study is based on responses from 35,186 original owners of 2014 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership. The study was fielded from October through December 2016. Congratulations to the team at Porsche for its high rank in the J.D. Power Study from all of us here at Porsche St. Louis.  It’s such an honor for indiGO Auto Group to represent this award-winning brand at our three Porsche dealerships across the United States.

Porsche Earns Top Rankings in Kelley Blue Book Resale Value Awards

Annually, Kelley Blue Book, the go-to source for automobile valuation, releases a list of vehicles with the best resale values. This year, Porsche topped the list in the luxury brand category. The team at Kelley Blue Book said candidly, "This one surprised even us. Not because we don't carry Porsches around in our hearts, and not because we weren't acutely aware that Porsche is on a 5-star roll -- bringing its best products ever to the luxury and sports-car market. No, we just didn't think that Lexus could be overthrown from wearing our Best Luxury Brand crown. But there is a new king, and the throne is well deserved. Porsche's ability to seamlessly blend its high-performance heritage with polished luxury is broadening the company's fan base every year, and Porsche resale value is outrageously strong -- and that's how you win the Best Resale Value Awards crown." Porsche also landed 2017 Best Resale Value Awards in the categories of Best High-End Luxury Car for the 2017 Panamera and Best Luxury Compact SUV/Crossover for the 2017 Macan. According to Kelley Blue Book, resale value is a huge consideration for car buyers, noting that "over the first five years of new-car ownership, depreciation is the typical car owner's biggest transportation expense. It's bigger than the cost of fuel, the cost of maintenance or the cost of insurance. That loss in the value of your car will cost you thousands of dollars during your ownership period, but if you choose a vehicle with a strong resale value story, that cost will be much lower than if you pick a vehicle that plummets in value like a stone kicked off a cliff." The Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards are based on years of calculations and expert predictions about the market. The resale value projections take into account current vehicle data, sales data, market conditions for each vehicle, competition within vehicle segments, expectations of the future economy, and the combined experience of Kelley Blue Book's team of market and pricing analysts. The awards recognize automakers' outstanding achievements in producing vehicles that best retain their value over the first five years (60 months) of new-vehicle ownership. BRAVO to the team at Porsche for topping Kelley Blue Book's list. It's such an honor for indiGO Auto Group to represent this award-winning brand at our three Porsche dealerships across the United States.
