For the thirteenth consecutive year, Porsche has taken home the highest ranking in JD Power’s APEAL research study. The APEAL—Automotive Performance Execution and Layout—study measures drivers’ satisfaction with their vehicles over the first ninety days of ownership. The thrilling luxury Porsche brand has continued to impress customers year after year.

Of the study, Vice President of Global Automotive at JD Power Dave Sargent said, “Many automakers are getting better and better at giving consumers what they want in a vehicle. The industry is doing a very good job of creating vehicles customers like across every segment, and the APEAL study identifies why this is. Manufacturers are making ever-higher quality vehicles, but this is not coming at the expense of performance, styling, utility or features.”

To measure customer satisfaction, JD Power gathers answers from drivers to 77 different questions that indicate their love and attachment to their new vehicle. This year, 25 models took home awards for their overall appeal.

Porsche outranked all other brands in customer satisfaction, earning an overall APEAL score of 884. Each individual model was also evaluated, and the Porsche 911, Porsche Cayenne, and Porsche Macan all ranked highly in the study.

Of these models, JD Power had nothing but positive comments for Porsche. JD Power noted about the Porsche 911, “For the 2017 model year, new turbocharged engines became standard for all versions, and Porsche updated the styling to provide visual reference to the change. Infotainment system upgrades also arrived, along with the powerful GTS model series.” The Cayenne, JD Power explained, was updated with a new infotainment system and the new Platinum Edition provided an eye-catching upgrade in the list 2017 trim options. The brand’s “lower-priced entry-level” model also received accolades from JD Power for its overall appeal. Porsche’s 2017 updates helped to ensure another year of customer loyalty and satisfaction with the brand.

We can’t wait to see how Porsche will impress new drivers in 2018!

Get out of your comfort zone and experience something new! The Cayenne GTS is best at bringing you into closer contact with every bump and curve in the road, giving you ultimate power behind the wheel. This Porsche has increased driving stability, improved comfort and upgraded performance levels.

The Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) Plus is a system for enhancing driving dynamics and stability. The electronically controlled rear differential lock works by varying torque distribution to the rear wheels. The PTV Plus optimizes steering response and precision by selectively applying brake pressure to the left or right rear wheel. Not only does the Porsche Cayenne GTS provide enhanced dynamics but, it also offers Porsche Stability Management. This feature helps stabilize the vehicle in hazardous road scenarios. The electric control system uses sensors to continuously monitor the direction, speed, velocity and lateral acceleration of the car. The traction is also enhanced when accelerating on inconsistent road surfaces. You can tackle any terrain with these systems!

The Cayenne GTS also offers adaptive cruise control with Porsches Active Safe. This system uses a radar sensor to monitor the road up to 650 feet ahead. The integrated Porsche Active Safe visually and audibly warns the driver of a potential collision and briefly tugs on the brakes.

The capabilities of the Porsche Cayenne GTS are truly phenomenal!

For five decades, the Porsche 911 has been the class benchmark in terms of performance and efficiency. With every generation, the Porsche 911 has raised the bar to a new level. The Porsche engineers from Zuffenhausen and Weissach reinvented the 911, demonstrating the innovative power of the Porsche brand. Although the 911 always led the way in terms of sportiness too, driving performance was never the developers’ sole focus.

One of the secrets to the success of the 911 series is its constant and systematic enhancement. Each year, many small details on the 911 have been improved, making it closer and closer to Ferry Porsche’s ideal image of the perfect sports car. In 2000, Porsche presented the 911 Turbo model line 996. The new brake in this model, known as the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake, was a significant technological advancement that set new standards, in particular in terms of decisive criteria, such as responsiveness, fading stability, weight and service life. Porsche was the first car manufacturer in the world to develop a ceramic composite brake disc with an involute cooling channel for efficient interior cooling.

In the 991 series of the 911, which was introduced in 2011, Porsche further perfected the lightweight design for sports cars. This achieved a number of goals; improving vehicle dynamics while reducing fuel consumption, as well as enhancing safety and raising levels of comfort in comparison with earlier vehicles. The engineers chose a concept that puts the right material in the right place, using the right construction method. The focus placed on 911 innovation is unparalleled. Can you imagine what today’s 911 can do?

Once again, the unthinkable has been accomplished by Porsche. The Cayenne, driven by Porsche GB technician Richard Payne, towed the aircraft over a distance of 42-metres at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, to set a new Guinness World Records title for ‘Heaviest Aircraft Pull by a Production Car,’ by a margin of 115-tonnes.

Richard Payne, a technician at Porsche GB said, “It did it – I’m so relieved! We don’t usually go this far to test the limits of our cars but I think today we got pretty close. I could tell that it was working hard but the Cayenne didn’t complain and just got on with it. My mirrors were quite full of Airbus, which was interesting. Our cars can go a bit beyond what our customers might expect they’re designed to be tough. But even so, what the Cayenne did today was remarkable we drove the car here from London and I plan to drive it home again, having towed an A380 in between. Credit should go to the team in Stuttgart who developed the car they did a thorough job. I’m also very grateful to Air France and its engineers for their generosity in allowing me to tow their beautiful aircraft.”

The 60,000-square-meter hangar was designed specifically to house the Air France Airbus A380 and is usually home to all the engineering and maintenance activity for the Air France fleet. The contrast between the two machines was striking. The Porsche Cayenne was connected to the most sophisticated and largest passenger aircraft in the world, the Airbus A380 via a special towing attachment that sat on the Cayenne’s standard tow bar. The job given was completed successfully, and the Porsche Cayenne made its mark in the book of Guinness World Records.

Training is the most important stage of a firefighter’s education and recruitment. Because of this, Porsche wanted to provide a real car for the trainees to use for practice, so they donated a Porsche Panamera to the emergency services of Nuremberg.

The latest training session was focused on the technical procedure for rescuing people from new vehicles. This involves freeing people from an automobile wreckage using tools like large shears and spreaders. “This makes it easier for the rescue team to help people quickly and safely at the scene”, says Alexander Grenz, from the department and Technical Service of Nuremberg. The generous donation gives firefighters the knowledge of working with some of the world’s most advanced vehicles. Porsche’s commitment to community outreach is unparalleled!
