2018 Porsche 911 breaks new record

2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Sets Record in Nürburgring-Nordschleife

The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS has done it! It has lapped the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in a new record time of 6:47.3. Brit Nick Tandy and German Lars Kern shared driving duties and came up wit the record five laps under 6m 50s. It was Lars Kern, however, who drove for the impressive 6m 47.3s record. According to Fox News, the head of GT cars at Porsche, Frank-Steffen Walliser, said after the run, “At the start of the development process, we set ourselves a lap time target for the GT2 RS of less than 7:05. The credit for beating this target by 17.7 seconds goes to our development engineers, mechanics and drivers, who demonstrated an exceptionally strong team performance.” Want to know more about what Porsche North Houston has to offer? Porsche Ranks as Most Dependable Brand in the J.D. Power Study

BRAVO to Porsche on being ranked as a most dependable brand in the latest J.D. Power Study. The study, now in its 28 th year, examines problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of 2014 model-year vehicles. Overall dependability is determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles, with a lower score reflecting higher quality. The study covers 177 specific problems grouped into eight major vehicle categories. Porsche came out on top with a score of 110 per 100 vehicles. The 2017 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study is based on responses from 35,186 original owners of 2014 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership. The study was fielded from October through December 2016. Congratulations to the team at Porsche for its high rank in the J.D. Power Study from all of us here at Porsche St. Louis.  It’s such an honor for indiGO Auto Group to represent this award-winning brand at our three Porsche dealerships across the United States.

Porsche Earns Top Rankings in Kelley Blue Book Resale Value Awards

Annually, Kelley Blue Book, the go-to source for automobile valuation, releases a list of vehicles with the best resale values. This year, Porsche topped the list in the luxury brand category. The team at Kelley Blue Book said candidly, "This one surprised even us. Not because we don't carry Porsches around in our hearts, and not because we weren't acutely aware that Porsche is on a 5-star roll -- bringing its best products ever to the luxury and sports-car market. No, we just didn't think that Lexus could be overthrown from wearing our Best Luxury Brand crown. But there is a new king, and the throne is well deserved. Porsche's ability to seamlessly blend its high-performance heritage with polished luxury is broadening the company's fan base every year, and Porsche resale value is outrageously strong -- and that's how you win the Best Resale Value Awards crown." Porsche also landed 2017 Best Resale Value Awards in the categories of Best High-End Luxury Car for the 2017 Panamera and Best Luxury Compact SUV/Crossover for the 2017 Macan. According to Kelley Blue Book, resale value is a huge consideration for car buyers, noting that "over the first five years of new-car ownership, depreciation is the typical car owner's biggest transportation expense. It's bigger than the cost of fuel, the cost of maintenance or the cost of insurance. That loss in the value of your car will cost you thousands of dollars during your ownership period, but if you choose a vehicle with a strong resale value story, that cost will be much lower than if you pick a vehicle that plummets in value like a stone kicked off a cliff." The Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards are based on years of calculations and expert predictions about the market. The resale value projections take into account current vehicle data, sales data, market conditions for each vehicle, competition within vehicle segments, expectations of the future economy, and the combined experience of Kelley Blue Book's team of market and pricing analysts. The awards recognize automakers' outstanding achievements in producing vehicles that best retain their value over the first five years (60 months) of new-vehicle ownership. BRAVO to the team at Porsche for topping Kelley Blue Book's list. It's such an honor for indiGO Auto Group to represent this award-winning brand at our three Porsche dealerships across the United States. The car now accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds (a reduction of 0.4 seconds), and achieves a new top speed of 272 km/h (an increase of 6 km/h). The maximum torque has also risen to 600 Nm (an increase of 50 Nm) and is available to the driver across a broad rev range of between 1,500 and 4,500 rpm. The front axle features grooved brake discs with a diameter of 390 millimeters – 30 millimeters larger than the brake discs fitted on the Macan Turbo without Performance Package. Porsche Electric Drive Technology of the Future

Porsche makes innovation happen, and the company's manufacturers have worked day and night advancing technology and increasing driving dynamics. Hybrids are evolving due to Porsche’s electric drive technology. By combining combustion engines and electric motors, a more energy-efficient hybrid has been created. Dr. Stefan Weckbach, head of the BEV model series, said, “This is the best example of how plug-in hybrid drives hugely increase driving dynamics and driving pleasure with the additional power and increased torque of the electric motor.” The electric drive technology maintains Porsche's company principle of “high performance, low consumption.” The average electric car takes 14 hours to fully charge, giving a driving range of just 68 miles. Porsche has been able to create a charger and a hybrid that gives off enough power to charge the electric vehicle fully in under 30 minutes, giving it a driving range of 288 miles. Porsche's growing technology does not end there. The manufacturers are looking to go above and beyond. Simon Hess, specialist for mobility concepts and charging infrastructure, added, “In the future, charging should be fast, convenient, safe, CO2-neutral, and at optimal cost.” This is the goal of Porsche's future innovation. Porsche’s New Panamera Sounds Good

Of the many desirable features of the second-generation Panamera, one of the best sounding items is the vehicle’s 3D audio experience. Created exclusively for Porsche’s new model by Burmester, the speaker system is high-end, producing sounds that are crisp and smooth with a total output of 1,455 watts. According to Porsche, “With the development of the new Panamera, the aim was to further improve the benchmark-setting performance delivered by the Burmester sound system. More specifically, enhancing the emotional experience was the objective. To do this, state-of-the-art audio technologies were used, including powerful and highly efficient class-D amplifiers, intelligent algorithms to improve sound quality and the latest developments in Auro 3D processing. With these advantages, for the very first time the system in the new Panamera delivers a playback experience based on the best concert halls in the world.” We can’t wait to hear the new Burmester speakers in action when the second-generation Panamera arrives in the United States! Porsche Ranks Number-One in 2016 US APEAL Study

Just a few days ago, we praised Porsche for the company’s financial success in the first half of 2016, due in part to the release of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models. That fiscal victory would not be possible without the manufacturer’s ability to impress and please drivers. Just yesterday, Porsche ranked number-one in JD Power and Associates’ 2016 US Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. The benchmark test has been in use by JD Power and Associates for 21 years, and it measures automobile owners’ emotional attachment and level of excitement based on “ 77 attributes, ranging from the power they feel when they step on the gas to the sense of comfort and luxury they feel when climbing into the driver’s seat.” JD Power and Associates’ APEAL study found that consumers are much more highly satisfied with vehicles that provide enhanced safety features, such as blind-spot monitoring and collision avoidance. Vice President of JD Power’s US Automotive Quality division, Renee Stephens, described, “Technology-enabled safety features help drivers feel more comfortable and confident while driving their vehicles. These features are also ‘gateway technologies’ to autonomous driving capabilities, so the continued level of consumer interest in them will be a critical metric to watch as the industry evolves toward including more automation in new vehicles.” Porsche proudly claims many of these special safety features in addition to other appealing attributes, like the launch of new vehicles, a smooth transmission, and top-notch technology. These accolades led Porsche to the number-one rank in JD Powers and Associates’ APEAL study with an overall score of 877 index points (on a 1,000-point scale). The powerful luxury car manufacturer has held this honor for 12 consecutive years, and is proud to present a lineup of cars that continually excite and amaze drivers. JD Power and Associates also recognized three Porsche models at the tops of their categories. The 911 ranked highest in the Midsize Premium Sporty Car Segment, improving by 20 points; the Boxster won the Compact Premium Sporty Car Segment, up by 17 points; and the Macan took the stage in the Compact Premium SUV Segment for the second year in a row. BRAVO to Porsche for this amazing recognition in JD Power and Associates’ APEAL Study. indiGO Auto Group is proud to represent such a remarkable luxury brand in three of our markets— Houston, St. Louis, and Rancho Mirage.
